International Astrology Day

ATTENTION ASTROLOGY LOVERS!

In 1993, International Astrology Day was established by the Association for Astrological Networking (AFAN) to coincide with the beginning of the Astrological Year, or the first day of Spring. The first day of Spring, or the Spring Equinox, is when the Sun enters the tropical sign of Aries. This date can either be March 20 or 21, depending on the year. Astrologers across the globe are encouraged to honor the day in various and creative ways. Our event is held the Sunday closest to that date.

In 2010, Astrologer Lisa Benjamin from Lititz, PA graciously and generously opened her home, and the event was wonderfully successful. In 2011, Bill Trivett offered to host the event at New Visions so we could really stretch out. The event consisted of free lectures, an “Eat-Your-Way-Through-The-Zodiac Potluck lunch, Astrology Book Table, Wacky Door Prizes and Astrological networking, hobnobbing and camaraderie. We had four fantastic lectures presented by Jeanne Parisi, Bill Trivett, Dianne Eppler-Adams and Pat Dumas. We had a great attendance of 47 participants and a veritable cornucopia of delicious food! And the Wacky Door Prizes, thoughtfully chosen by New Vision’s own Bob Hall, were, of course, All That. Lisa and Bill are both Capricorns, so you know the event was organized, efficient and productive (plus a lot of fun!) An annual tradition has begun for Central PA!

Lecture: “Healing Pluto Problems” with Bill Trivett

Pluto can manifest in our natal chart and by transit either as friend or foe. Listen as Bill gives insights into the problems that Pluto can mirror, such as fear, anger, darkness, dysfunction and despair. And yet, like the Phoenix that rises from the ashes, this little ice ball can show us how we can claim our power and rise above and heal our own Pluto problems.

Bill Trivett is an accomplished astrologer with many years teaching students and reading for clients. He is also co-owner of New Visions Books and Gifts in York, PA, as well as the co-host of the annual Central PA Celebration of Life Holistic Expo and Conference. Bill has a way of making the sometimes nebulous concepts of astrology very real, practical and fun!

Lecture: ”Nobody Nodes the Trouble I’ve Seen…” with Pat Dumas

This afternoon, Pat will offer an overview of the Dragon’s Head and Dragon’s Tail in the chart, the North and South Node of the Moon, and how they represent karmas in your birthchart…the balance on your karmic credit card, and the great gift you’ve brought in to help resolve your own karmic debt and that of the planet.

Pat Dumas, from Gemini Rising Holistic Partners, is an astrologer, tarot reader, hypnotherapist, past life regressionist and energy healer. As an astrologer, she has a keen interest in, and is an expert in, karmic astrology. Pat presentation style is dazzling and dynamic. You will thoroughly enjoy her!

Lecture: “Fire, Earth, Air, Water” with Jeanne Parisi

Through a deeper understanding of each of the elements, we can access how energy flows through a natal chart most easily, and how this energy responds to challenges and opportunities. Each element has a unique purpose and tapping into the mythology of each of these allows us to better understand what it requires and how we can use it to achieve our goals – and better relationships.

Jeanne Parisi has been a practicing astrologer for over 30 years, specializing in using astrology for self-understanding and building positive relationships. She has presented workshops throughout NY, NJ and PA on various astrological topics.

Lecture: “How to Turn Bad News Into Good News” with Kitty Hatcher

What if your natal chart is filled with many squares and oppositions? What if you are getting clobbered by difficult transits? Should you just throw in the towel? Learn how to interpret your chart in a way that helps you maximize your strong points, minimize your weak points and turn your difficult aspects into opportunities.

Kitty Hatcher is past president of the Baltimore Chapter of the NCGR and has been an active and professional astrologer for over thirty years. She is known internationally as a teacher, lecturer and consultant. She has appeared on radio and television and has written columns for magazines, newspapers and Internet publications. Kitty speaks in terms that anyone can understand and has a unique way of combining astrology with psychology, motivation, common sense and global trends.
